ICDA 2018: Academics, activists, lawmakers and healthcare professionals launch new centre of disability in Abuja, Nigeria.

Although the discussions highlighted some disagreements amongst experts on how to best address the issues raised, there was a general consensus that more emphasis needs to be placed on intellectual disabilities and finding a common understanding and definition of intellectual disability is a starting point.

Autism – With Early Intervention, There’s Hope for Sufferers- Expert

Usman discovered Mohammed had autism when he was two years old. Being her first child, she did not notice anything wrong with him, but a family member saw him and said he should be taken to the hospital for check up. They did some tests, and the doctors said the child had autism.
