Buhari signs law banning discrimination against persons with disability

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday signed into law a legislation that will henceforth criminalise common discriminations against persons with disabilities.

Although the discussions highlighted some disagreements amongst experts on how to best address the issues raised, there was a general consensus that more emphasis needs to be placed on intellectual disabilities and finding a common understanding and definition of intellectual disability is a starting point.
